I’ve been playing basketball since I was nine years old, two-thirds of my time on this earth. This sport has shown me joy, pain and opportunity. I love it in more ways than I even knew was possible at the start. Basketball has taught me courage, discipline, adversity, teamwork and patience. It has brought tremendous lows that challenged my confidence—yet—it has also brought me far greater highs making every achievement incredibly rewarding. Basketball is even responsible for initiating my most valued friendships. For something that seems so simple, it continues to challenge me as a player on the court and as an adult and role model off the court.

I will play this game until one has nothing left to give to the other…
